As others have said, I am so sorry to hear this. It is a reminder than no surgery is "routine" because things like this can happen.

I am glad that you had moved closer to your parents. I'm sure it was and is a comfort to your mother to have you there.

There are no words that make this better, but do know that we all care about you and will be sending prayers and positive thoughts your way.

I am so sorry about your dad. I've been keeping you all in my prayers. I'm sure you're in shock and I can't imagine how horrible the pain is right now. I know it has to be a great comfort that you were able to be there with your parents. I remember well when you moved to Texas a few years back. It will be a comfort to your Mom to have you there with her now. It's hard to believe that a routine surgery on someone typically healthy can go so wrong...

Oh my I'm just seeing this now!! How sad...after my accident I shot a blood clot from leg also, I was on blood thinners as well. I had just been dischared, and I came in with sudden unrelated pain, thank God I did. I always say it was my baby daughter in heaven looking out for her mom that night.

My dad passed at 6:52 last night with family by his side. His body just shut down, too many infections, renal failure, lungs not functioning right- hard to believe all this started from what we thought was simple knee replacement surgery.
A pain I know some of you have felt, just unbearable. Thanks to all for the prayers.

I agree, I am so glad you moved to Texas! I will definitely pray for him and also all of you. It is so scary when our loved ones are sick.

p.s. Shelly, I am so glad your dad is out of the woods! That was such a nightmare!

I'm sorry to hear this. As you may know, my dad had a similar experience last fall. He went in for a stent and ended up in the hospital ICU for a month with respiratory failure. He developed pneumonia and had a double lung collapse. It was touch and go for a long time. I slept on the floor at the hospital for several days. It is tough to say the least.

Hi all. I'm asking for some prayers for my father. He went in for knee replacement surgery on March 31. The next Sunday he was having trouble breathing and my mom called the EMT's. He's been in ICU since from a pulmonary embolism. A blood clot had formed from the surgery (he was on blood thinner and still got a clot), traveled to his heart and seperated in his lungs. At this moment he's on a ventilator. He's been off it most of the week, only had to be on it one day...
