My sister is having surgery the day before Election Day. She's already gotten her absentee ballot. It's too important to her to miss the opportunity to vote.

Of course, it goes without saying that everyone should vote. I wish that it was mandatory for all college students to vote. I feel like sometimes they get lazy or don't register because they don't want jury duty or whatever. I just wish that the young people would get off their butts! It makes me...

ITA about the EC. But then again, I am from Texas, a very large state with a lot of people. If I was from a small state with few people I would not feel that way. Politicians would not give the time of day to those states if there were no EC. They would only give their promises and $$ to those states with the most people and votes.

Shelly, I agree with you about the electoral college. It should be done away with and only the popular vote should count. That is one reform I would love to see come about, but I don't hold out much hope.

I think that they need to do away with the electoral college. I think EVERY vote should count in the Presidential election. I don't think it is right that someone can get more individual votes and still lose.

I'm sure I'll vote. I can't complain if I don't vote, lol, nothing bugs me more than someone, any gender, saying to me how they hate so and so, hate what they've done, have all sorts of ideas how it SHOULD have been...

Elizabeth, I am so glad you posted this! I am one of those women who thinks it should be a crime not to vote! Too many people believe that it's a waste of time, but I don't. I think it's one of the most important things we can do as citizens of this country.
I think that maybe I feel so strongly about it because I live in the city where Susan B. Anthony cast her "illegal" vote, and where she's buried. I remember reading so...
