I am in shock and pain. My mom passed away yesterday morning at 11 am. WSe were with her all night. She was in alot of pain to say the least. Her cancer had
spread rapidly the last month and especially the last two weeks while she was in the hospital. There is so much bad that was happening to her bosy from her
legs and chest swelling to the cancer eating at her.
I know you will be praying for her, an I appreciate that more than you realize. But my dad and I miss her so much and I am afraid for my dad. He is taking this very hard.

Guy,
I am so sorry. When my mom's cancer came back it was very, very rapid. We found out it was back on Good Friday. She came home the following Monday and was gone by Thursday and she was a strong 61 year old woman. Pancreatic cancer has a survival rate of only 4%. I was hoping that your mom would be one of those 4%. I have been where you are or a similar situation anyway. I wasn't battling cancer myself and I can't imagine you dealing with this and your own health issues at the same time. I have no words to make it better. You will hear all kinds of words from people meaning well, but I can't say I found any comfort in anything anyone said. I walked around in a fog doing what had to be done. It is difficult even now (4 years later) to hear Mother's Day ads. I will say that we learned to take things one day at a time sometimes one hour and sometimes one minute at a time to get through it. I still miss her every day, but at least I have gotten past the stage where I expect her to walk through the door any minute. It is a very difficult journey, but it just has to be done. I worried about my dad because they had been married for 43 years, but he has coped well and has gone on with his life. He has a GF now and is doing well. Take things one minute at a time if you have to; if you feel like crying, cry; if you feel liking screaming, scream. If you feel like hitting something, beat the crap out of a pillow. I'm rambling but the bottom line is that we do what we have to do. Time does not heal all wounds, but it makes the pain bearable. We are all here for you if you need to vent and will be sending you positive thoughts and prayers. PS cancer SUCKS!!!!! Hugs,

Guy, my most sincere condolences to you, your dad and the rest of your family. I am deeply sorry, Guy, for the loss of a beloved parent is one of the most
painful experiences of one's life as far as I know.
I pray with all the might that my tiny heart can muster that your father and you both may come through this grief stronger and healthier

Guy,
You and your dad and the rest of your family have my deepest sympathies. I know that no matter how old we get, no one is ever prepared to lose his/her mom. I can't imagine ever losing my mom, but I know that someday I will. Shelly is right - just take things one day at a time - it's all you can do. Please know that we're all here for you and that we'll all keep praying.
Hugs and God bless, Jamie |

Oh Guy I am so, so sorry.
When I worked in a local hospice unit, not direct care such as nursing, but I did do home visits, and patient advocacy...setting up services, and making sure everyone was as comfortable as possible, but also just socializing with the patients and families as well. I had many patients with pancreatic cancer, and it was always pretty difficult. I really was hoping it would have been a different experience for you. Of course I've wished that for others at least a milllion times. I know there aren't words. When my grandmother needed hospice, I refered her and it was horrible going through it on the other end. Our prayers are with you!! Tania in Pennsylvania

Once again, you all show why I love you all so much. Your beautiful words of sympathy really mean alot to us. I know my mom has no pain and she truely is with
God and Jesus. For those of you who are Catholic, my mom was really devoted to the Blessed Mother and faithfully said Rosary's every day to Her. She is
with her now. I was Blessed to have my mom and my dad. I am doing all I can for my dad. I have never seen him so weak in all my life. He was/is always a
mountain to me. My mom showed how much strength she had. A truely Saint of a woman.
Thank you all again. I love you all and you are such special people. God Bless you.
