Hi all. I'm asking for some prayers for my father. He went in for knee replacement surgery on March 31. The next Sunday he was having trouble breathing
and my mom called the EMT's. He's been in ICU since from a pulmonary embolism. A blood clot had formed from the surgery (he was on blood thinner and
still got a clot), traveled to his heart and seperated in his lungs. At this moment he's on a ventilator. He's been off it most of the week, only had
to be on it one day before and that's because he kept trying to take his oxygen mask off. They haven't been able to get his oxygen levels where they
need to be, today was really bad so he had to be tubed again and put back on the vent. He's 75 and has been healthy up until now. They did a bronchoscopy
and flushed his airway to see if that would help. They just can't figure out why his lungs are remaining so inflammed, they don't think the clot is an
issue anymore, might be an infection that didn't respond to the first antibiotic-I'm hopeful they will know more tomorrow. If they can get him stable
tonight they plan to do another cat scan in the morning and an angioplasty. He was fighting the vent all day today and if they gave him more sedative his blood
pressure would lower too much.
This is such a nightmare. My poor Mom is there at 7am until around 7pm at night everyday, I'm grateful that I don't work and can spend as much time as
I can with her and him. I don't know if anyone remembers but, I moved my family to Texas in 2004 from California to be closer to my parents and my DD to
her grandparents. Right now, I'm so glad I did it!

Oh my gosh! I am so sorry to read this! You and your family are in my prayers.
