I did develop a migraine later this evening, so that could be why I forgot. I am so sad. I was really wanting to see that.
The bad thing is that now it is 4:40 a.m. and I just realized it and can't sleep.

Ugh! I feel like such a loser! |

I had a really busy day, my in-laws closed on a house in Austin (yes, they will be living here part time) and I had a stressful meeting at work....what makes
me feel like a loser, is that I had paid $140 for a concert ticket to see Heart/Cheap Trick/Journey and I completely forgot to go! The concert was out of town
(San Antonio, 1.5 hr. away)

Sorry to hear about that | ||

That would have been a good show.
But you live in Austin and I know that Austin is the "Music capitol of Texas" Maybe, just maybe they will come to Austin.

Big hugs Elizabeth.
Here is something to make you feel better. Before we left for vacation I had watered everyday for three days. I forgot to turn off the sprinklers and so we got 11 straight days of watering. Lawn looks great but got the bill today and it's 245.00.

Ak! That must hurt!
I actually was pretty upset about this until I got an e-mail from my mother's cousin. Her grandson was killed in a car accident. This is the same person who's other daughter was trapped in a burning car in an accident 4 years ago. Suddenly I was not as upset about missing that concert. Sigh! The fact is, I wanted to see Heart...it's not just the money...oh well! Thanks for listening, guys! |

That's a total bummer, Elizabeth
I feel for ya, that would have
been an awesome concert! Losing the money is a bummer, too, but great perspective on the fact that there are much worse things to happen. Try not to be too
hard on yourself! You're definitely not a loser! You rock, girl! (just a little stressed and forgetful )

I can certainly sympathize. Years ago, when I worked in retail, I had tickets to go see Jackson Browne. I was supposed to have the
night off, and got scheduled anyway. I was livid, but they wouldn't give me the night off. Everyone told me I should just call in sick, but I knew
management would know it was a lie, so I didn't. To this day, I still regret not blowing off the job and going to the concert.

I know...I always was sad when a parent lost a child...but now that I am a parent, I really feel strongly whenever that happens!

Elizabeth, sorry you missed your concert. Listen girl, you must get a big calendar, hang it in the bathroom where you will see it several times a day! Write
in all those important appointments with a big ole red pen!

I can't even begin to tell you how hard it is to remember everything when you have a two year old! On top of that with my in-laws here and JD just getting
over a bad cold...the cards were stacked against me! I have decided not to stress over it though, since it is out of my control now...ugh!

I print out a monthly calendar in WordPerfect and write everything on it and put it on the fridge. I look at it every morning to make sure I am not forgetting
something.

I've gotten a phone that I can sync with my computer. It beeps at me more than the computer reminding me of stuff. It's a Treo by Palm and it has
Windows Explorer and Outlook on it.
Now I've just got to remember to sync the phone. LOLOL Which reminds me.....

Okay so much for the expensive phone and it's reminders.
Over the weekend I noticed that I had a meeting scheduled for 9:10 at church which was really supposed to be 10:10. Checked it with the desktop and it said 10:10. So somehow the phone got it wrong...don't know why. I've been running errands all day and had a doctor's appointment which the phone reminded me of, even though I hadn't forgotten. All day long though my phone has been beeping at me reminding me of a meeting tonight. No way Mr. Phone that is next week on the 11th. I kept hitting snooze so that when I got home I could fix it on the desktop and then alert Palm that the phone sucks. Imagine my shock when I get home to let Palm know how screwed up my phone is (and of course they will blame Microsoft, since it is Outlook) only to notice that it IS Monday the 11th and my meeting is in 10 minutes in far west Fort Worth, 25 miles away. Thank goodness I didn't hit send on that email to Palm customer service.

OMG, I am so sorry! Well, every marriage goes through a rough patch at least once. I hope that is all it is for you. Have you thought about going to a
counselor? Do you have any health bennies through your husband's employment?
On my 25th birthday no one remembered my birthday, not even my own mother. I had no idea how important it was until then. Ever since then, I throw myself a huge party every year. LOL. Occasionally, a friend will throw one for me, but usually I throw my OWN party. I never wait for people to remember. I send out an invitation and reminders! LOL. That really stinks about the job. I can only imagine how depressed you must feel about that. It sounds like you had your hopes up on the job. Plus it is so hard to have "0" birthdays as a female. UGH! Society does not make it easy. Do you not have any siblings who can help you out with your mother? Good luck on that job hunt! If you were second in line for that job, that means you were ALMOST there. This means that you will be next to get the job. That is one person less on the market!!! |
