"what will we all do without GL? We will all have to change to the same soap so we can keep discussing together!"

I had been thinking about this as well I think some of us might be feeling worried about our beloved soap.
We know it will be here till 2009 but then what? I do feel if the show keeps doing what it is doing it might
be canceled. What will we do? This is what we have in common as a whole, so if that common link is gone
then what?

I will not give up until the last second, but IF that happens, I will go wherever my friends go so I don't miss you guys! I love RPG, so AMC doesn't sound bad. I've never watched it and don't know all the ins and outs, and I hate that (ATWT and GL was on at my house from the time they brought me home from the hospital!) I wouldn't understand as well as GL, but I would give it a try.

OK, then. I am totally faithful to GL but if it all ends in a firey crash, then we can all switch to AMC and we can change the board around to reflect that. We can still discuss GL as well! I hope this never happens, but I definitely want to keep our group together! I love you guys!!!

As stupid as the writing is now, they would probably have the show end with everyone being sucked up into a space ship or Josh turning to the dark side and convincing everyone to drink poison Kool-Aid.

Breaking News from SOD Online:

After taking a "vacation" from GUIDING LIGHT to job-hunt, insiders tell Weekly that Beth Ehlers (Harley) has landed a role on ALL MY CHILDREN. At press time for the issue of Weekly on sale this weekend, several sources reported she would be playing Liza Colby and start airing this summer in a love triangle with former GL spouse Ricky Paull Goldin (ex-Gus; now Jake) and Michael E. Knight (Tad). However, this week it appears AMC has another character in mind for Ehlers.

See I thought about this over night and I think BE would have done well as Liza,,,,,now this!
How cool to have BE with two super hunks, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

If its AMC you want, then I guess I'm in it to. But it all depends on my wife and MIL, they may watch something else. My MIL is a CBS watcher, I'm not sure what my wife's second show would be???

I will watch GL until the last day I presume. If that happens, I will probably find another soap. I used to watch AMC and ATWT until they both got boring years ago and switched to GL. All soaps have writing troubles I think and goofy stories. I also watched General Hospital at one time. I would probably go to ATWT since my daughter watches it, unless it bites the dust too.

What happen when a soap bites the dust?

Along come another CBS soap.

Like when we lost The Edge of Night, Search for Tomorrow, Loving, ect.....
Then came the
......................The young & Restless
........................The Bold & Beautiful..............ect.......
I just wonder if GL bite the dust, will the try to do a write off of the GL, using some characters or
just a hold new Soap.
An what would be the name of it?

i watch atwt when i have a chance now, so i will probably pick it up on a more regulas basis and then add amc to stay in touch with the people of this board of whom i have grown very fond. i know absolutely nothing about amc so if the awful time comes when the light goes out...you people in the know concerning amc will have to fill me in. i just keep hoping something great will happen and the light stays on.

I'm kinda in the same boat as kohari - I used to watch ATWT and GL both faithfully, everyday - up until a couple 2 or 3 years (or more ago) when I lost some interest in ATWT - I now only catch it occasionally and don't worry about it....maybe a few minutes here and there but never do I sit down and watch the whole entire show like I do GL. I will watch GL till it's last breath and hopefully that won't be for years and years - but IF it were to happen in my lifetime - I might attempt to get renewed interest in ATWT simply because of my past history with it........but I used to also watch AMC - back when Erica was young and falling in love for her first time and most of the people I knew and loved on there then are no longer even aruond so it would be like starting all over again. Someone would have to fill me in.....but I would want to be able to continue to hang out with the rest of you....including Guy and Phillip - so I would follow wherever the majority decides to go. But let's hope there is never a need to make that decision.

I won't give up on GL either...no matter what the SLs are I just couldn't imagine it being gone!!

I'm in with all of you though...I watch AMC...as well as OLTL, GH, Y&R, occasionally Days...all due to Soapnet of course. I've also seen an episode or two of As The World Turns, but , not enough to follow the SL too well, and with the kids it is tough to keep up with it. Anyway I love the board and the people I've met, so I'll come along!!

I don't believe that is true any longer. Soap Operas are a dying breed. NBC is down to two soaps now. I do not believe CBS would put another soap on to replace GL if it were to be canceled. JMHO

I'll stick with GL until the end. However, I started watching AMC over a year ago. I think that my DVR was trying to tell me something yesterday-- it only taped AMC and the programming for GL had disappeared.

I have been watching GH, I love LW! The show has been so good and soo sad! LW is doing a wonderful job as Carly! So, seeing that I'am watching it now thats what I would be sticking to. I'am a cbs kind of gal but as I have said that is what I 'am watchng now and will continue to do so. As much as I love GL, it simpy has'nt done it for me. There are NO couples that I care about. . . NONE! The ones that I did care about are gone, so whats the point? I love a good love story gl is void in that area, from where I stand. There is a saddness when I think that it will be gone. But if there is no improvement I don't think there will be a gl and that to bad.
